When you respon cynically to advise given by seasoned individuals, it reflects poorly on you. Everything is in how you've learned and how much real experience you gathered. You can mix 2, 5, 10 years without actually ever know what you're doing. And would love some real Hands on Tutorials for those 2 Things. And would like to step up with Plugins i find have a sound i dfntly want in my Mix. I have been 'locked' in my chain for a long time now. So don't take it badly, but questions like that really do make it seem like you don't really have mixing experience. Knowledge for the SSL E-Channel (waves) and Virtual Mixing Rack (Slate) So i would like to bring my Mixing up. And if you like what it does, you buy it.

You should use the plugin's trial periods, see what it adds and if it does something you can't do with what you have. But it's the other way around you should work. Your mindset is a bit wrong in that you bought these things and then try to figure out why you want to use them.
It's as basic as it gets, and the only quesstion you should ask yourself is: do i like it any better than the EQ's, comps, gates that i have? The SSL-E is a channel strip, just like you would have a console in front of you. Why use an ssl comp on this one thing and an 1176 on the other? Because i think it sounded better. This concerns most of the software, and Im equally quilty as you are. I already have things like Slates Virtual Mix Rack SSL models. Why use a pultec on one thing and ssl on the other? Well because i liked the sound better for that. Waves SSL E-Channel for just 29 VST, AU, etc. You seem quite frustrated with the responses but here's the issue in a nutshell. Helps us keep the sub clean by reporting posts and comments that are in fault.
